Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-14 · StatementToExcel

1. Our core promise

StatementToExcel is built around privacy. By default, your bank statements, credit-card statements and invoices are processed entirely inside your own browser. The PDF file is never uploaded to our servers for the standard (text-based) mode.

2. What we collect

Free-tier usage counter: we store a count of conversions in your browser's localStorage so we can show your remaining free uses. This never leaves your device.

Scanned-PDF (AI) mode: when you enable Pro and upload a scanned / image-only PDF, we temporarily send the rendered page images to our server for OCR. Images are processed on demand and are not stored after the extraction completes.

Billing: Pro subscriptions are handled by our payment partner Creem. We never see or store your card number. Creem's processing is governed by their own Privacy Policy.

3. Cookies & analytics

We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage (page views, not individual documents). We do not use advertising cookies and we do not build profiles of your financial data.

4. Data retention

We retain no extracted transaction data. Any temporary images sent for AI extraction are discarded immediately after processing.

5. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR / UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we hold almost none by design, there is usually nothing to action — but you can always contact us to confirm.
